It’s my birthday!

It’s June 16th, and today is my birthday! I just turned 59 years young! Woohoo! It’s actually really hard to wrap my mind around the fact that this is my last year in my 50’s! I remember turning 50 and wondering how I could possibly be that old! I know it’s all relative and I certainly don’t feel my chronological age! I still run  5 miles 2 or 3 times a week, I take yoga 2 or 3 times a week, I try to do a weight workout once or twice a week, and I teach 3 fitness classes a week. So in terms of the average 59er, I think I’m definitely not typical!

The one thing I am very present to is that at this age I am finally taking myself as an artist seriously. I am calling myself an artist when I introduce myself, and I am making art a part of my daily routine.

With this new year, I am trying on a new way of being. Being present, focused, committed, fearless, and really true to myself! I’ll keep you posted as the year unfolds!

  1. Nice Diane! And you ARE “seriously” a WONDERFUL artist! So proud of you and how you are growing, and putting yourself out there! Becoming the whole you! You’re such an inspiration to me!

    • Thanks so much Kim! You are one of the inspirations that got me back into my art!
Seeing your beautiful pastels in a gallery show with the women in your (now our) art class, had me take the step out of my fear and into my love! Being in art class with you and these incredible women, who range in age from their 50’s to their 90’s, is a constant reminder to keep creating, no matter what age we are! You are so talented, and I can’t wait to have a group show with you! We are on our way Kim! Love you!
